An Eye-Opening Visit to Artemis Hospital: Key Lessons for Better Healthcare

Publishing this article has been on my mind for a long time, and today I am excited to share my experience and insights. However, due to a busy schedule and personal commitments, it kept getting delayed.

Over the past few years, I've visited many hospitals in Delhi-NCR and have had several meetings with international marketing teams and doctors. However, my visit to Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, left a lasting impression that I believe is worth sharing.

First Impressions Matter

The main purpose of my visit was to meet with key doctors and discuss business opportunities together. As soon as I entered the gates of Artemis Hospital, I noticed something special. The hospital was crowded with both international and local patients. Around 60 to 70% of the patients were from other countries, and yet, everything was so well organized. The staff managed everyone so efficiently.

Observations on Hospital Operations

Curious to know more, I decided to explore the hospital on my own. I was amazed at how calm and organized everything was. Patients, including children, looked happy and comfortable. They interacted with the hospital staff like family. This showed me that the hospital and doctor coordinators were doing an excellent job. They were giving their best to make sure patients were satisfied.

Meeting the Doctors

Meeting the doctors at Artemis was another highlight. They were polite and took their time with each patient. Despite their busy schedules, they didn’t rush. This is very important because many patients travel long distances to get treatment in India.

The Role of the Marketing Team

The international marketing team at Artemis Hospital also deserves special mention. They are not confined to their offices but are actively engaged on the ground, understanding patient needs and expectations firsthand. Their proactive approach ensures that the hospital remains patient-centric, catering to the specific needs of international patients who often face additional challenges when seeking treatment abroad. The marketing team's efforts in building strong relationships with patients and their families contribute significantly to the hospital's positive reputation.

Efficient Operations Team

The operations team at Artemis Hospital plays a crucial role in maintaining the hospital's high standards. Their efficiency and attention to detail ensure that everything runs smoothly. From patient admissions to discharge, every process is handled with precision. The team works tirelessly behind the scenes to coordinate between different departments, ensuring that patients receive timely and seamless care. Their dedication is evident in the calm and organized environment of the hospital, where patients feel well cared for and supported.

Key Takeaways and Suggestions

From my visit, I learned several important things that I think every Hospital and Medical Value Travel (MVT) company should consider:

1. Be Honest with Patients: Building trust through honesty is crucial.

2. Avoid Overpromising: Set realistic expectations to maintain patient trust and satisfaction.

3. Invest in Operations: A strong operations team is essential for smooth functioning.

4. Increase Coordinator Staff: More coordinators are needed to handle both local and international patients efficiently.

5. Quick Response Times: Responding to patient queries quickly is very important in today’s competitive world.

6. Strong Departmental Teams: Relying on just one senior doctor is not enough; having strong teams in each department is necessary.

7. Engage Marketing Teams on the Ground: International marketing teams should actively engage with patients on the ground, not just from their offices.

8. Nearby Accommodation: Having places for patients to stay near the hospital is very important.

9. Clear Roles for MVT Companies: MVT companies should focus on bringing in business, while hospitals should handle operations.

10. Empathetic Patient Care: Ensuring that doctors and staff are trained to provide empathetic and patient-centric care is vital for building trust and satisfaction.

11. Continuous Improvement: Regularly seeking feedback from patients and their families can help hospitals identify areas for improvement and maintain high standards of care.

12. Comprehensive Support Services: Providing comprehensive support services, including translation and cultural mediation, can greatly enhance the patient experience, especially for international patients.

Why Publish Today?

I am sharing these insights today because I believe we need more hospitals like Artemis and more dedicated marketing companies. By implementing these suggestions, we can improve healthcare standards and patient care, making a big difference for both local and international patients.

Let us work together to create a healthcare environment that prioritizes patient satisfaction and efficient operations.
