You can't afford to be careless with what you consume.

It will cost you more than you realize!

Jesus cautions us in Matthew 6:22-23 KJV

”The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.“”But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!“

Eye, here refers to your perception of life.

It is like your guiding light, illuminating or guiding your path in life.

It affects everything about your life.

If your perception of life is faulty, distracted, or dim, your life will equally be devoid of light. It will be full of darkness.

How is this perception formed?

By what you constantly give your attention (eyes and ears) to.

In this episode our focus will be on what you watch with your eyes.

??What cost the entire human race was what Eve saw in the garden.

(And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, ...Genesis 3:6 KJV)

Eve fell because of what she gave her attention to - “seeing the tree”… and the perception she formed of it afterward - “that it was good for food”)

Obviously, this “seeing” of the tree wasn’t a once-in-a-lifetime seeing, but a regular occurrence, leading to the conclusion that it was good for food, despite being told not to eat it."

??What cost David was what he saw

All the battles David had to fight after he became king, his son rebelling, and he losing his kingdom, were all a repercussion of seeing a woman bath.

What are you seeing?

??When the Israelites were busy fighting war, Achan was distracted by a beautiful Babylonian robe he saw—200 silver coins and gold, especially when God had given them a prior warning to not take anything.

Because of what he saw, not only did he die, but his entire family was destroyed.

Have a healthy respect for what you see.

This is the reason why as a child of God, as somebody who values your salvation and your life, you must be intentional...

You must be deliberate and conscious of the movies and the videos you watch.

You cannot afford to be watching pornography.

It costs you more than you realize.

It disorients you.

It destabilizes you.

Most of what these pornographic images communicate, disrespect the human body.

They devalue the image of God into a sex toy.

And this has tremendous repercussions on one’s vision/perception of life.

This is why Job was very serious with his eyes.

He said in Job chapter 31.

I have made a covenant with my eyes, never to look lustfully at a woman.

Job is telling us one of the secrets why the hedge around him was never broken.

That is why Satan had to take special permission from God before he could trouble Job.

He had a good filter for what his eyes could view.

No wonder there was so much light and prosperity in his life.

Again,

??What you behold, what you become.

When God wanted to convince Abraham of the extent of the blessings He wanted to give him - He said to Abraham - as far as your eyes can see (north, south, east, west) I am giving you.

If Abraham is getting what his eyes are seeing, what are you also getting based on what your eyes have been seeing?
