Two years ago, Vivek approached me in LinkedIn with such a message that I could not help myself but meet him.
He was super interested in the quantum leadership and the principles behind it, but mainly the higher purpose and how to live a life beyond just work, connecting the dots.
At this time, he has shared his story. He shared the challenge he and his wife have faced after losing their son, and all the struggle he went through, how this has moved him to do something more significant.
We talked for one hour, and I recall that I remember him with kindness, and I knew he had something different inside himself. I knew he was up to something greater...
Time passed by, and I did not have time to help him a bit, (I am sorry for this...), but I always had him in my mind and heart.
Now, two years later, Vivek contacted me, and we met today.
WOW, what an honor to be able to be connected with somebody who can make a difference and live what he dreamt.
And more, how great it is to be able to testify the power of purpose, how one can go beyond imagination if you can use some adversity positively and focus on what you want instead of what you want to avoid! How impactful a lucid dream and purpose can be when you focus your thoughts and guide the system's energy to help society by sharing your experience and learnings!
Vivek now has a book to be published, and it is going to be available in Amazon from the 15th of January. "God is not fair?"
This book he shares his story and how purpose and helping others had helped him to overcome the depression and the suicidal thoughts he had when he lost his son. His purpose is to help people to overcome depression and to advocate for mental health. He truly wants to help people find the beauty in life, even when it is not so beautiful.
This book brings other stories of extraordinary people who did the same - overcame considerable challenges in life and transform these challenges in opportunities to build a legacy, meaning, to truly make a difference in the world.
Positive use of adversity. Finding your purpose and then helping others.
I so much admire Vivek for his courage for sharing his story. I admire how he puts his purpose much higher than the fear of vulnerability and the concern of what others will think of him.
A brave person is really brave, when s/he thinks first on the benefit their lesson can provide to other people, rather than the image, impression s/he will make. These people are the ones who leave us with a great impression. These are the real true life heroes!
Vivek brought the stories of his book from people interviewed in a podcast he had started six months ago with the same name - "God is not fair?". This podcast talks about adversities and how to handle them. In a short time, he has already impacted thousands of people!
Very motivating! “I listen to this whenever I am feeling down or feel stuck. I realize that life is not about gaining material wealth or hight status in society. We just need a meaningful life.”
In his podcast, he is trying to help people, young people, students, or workers to understand that we all have problems, that nobody is alone in facing challenges in life. He believes it is essential to provide a safe space where people can talk about challenges and how they need support. I also think that if more people talk about problems we face in our lives and how we have managed it, mental health in the workplace, in schools, would be much higher. People tend to share only the beautiful things, and more senior the position the person is in, more pressure is felt to be stronger, consequently higher the fear of being vulnerable... Then, of course, the role modeling is that you can now share problems, or that being strong is not having problems - is this a healthy place?
Vivek intends to bring hope and to help people when they have to make a decision at any given difficult time of their life.
How many of us have gone through difficult moments and have imagined that we were alone at that moment, or that we were the only ones going through a bad situation? How many of us would have faced the situation much better if we would have known similar stories from people close to us who were going through difficulties? If we would have a support network? People we could trust? Or if we would be prepared to face difficult situations and we would have had a bigger purpose in our mind to stick to when so many parts of our life would be falling down?
He is right now precisely trying to take the next step in his help!!
From having a podcast with many followers, writing a book with some of the stories, he is trying to step into a new path to develop a model, a course, training with which he could proactively offer to companies and schools to help people to deal with adversities. To help people have the inner conversation that is so much needed at a difficult moment and be prepared, knowing themselves and knowing how to react and whom to ask support…
On this journey, I want to try to support him. I will try to help with my experience on the U Theory from Otto Scharmer (leading from the emerging future - putting our focus where we want the energy of the system to go) and also trying to bring some concepts from the Quantum Leadership, Danah Zohar. We will try to put together some models to take to schools and companies and help India to be a country with less depression and maybe decrease the level of suicides that should not be so big, given the beauty and grace of this country….
People like Vivek make my day! He made me understand why somethings in our life happen! If I were in my day to day job right now, I would not be able to help such a great cause - to bring better mental health to India, not only in my organization but on a much bigger scale.
Steve Jobs is right, we might not connect the dots right away, but when we look backward, we understand why something happened.
I like to believe that we can connect dots forward, mainly when we are open, as I am open right now, and as Vivek was when he had to go through moments of difficulties, and we then realize that something bigger is emerging. Then, and just then, we can grab to it and genuinely do what we are meant to do.
We can just let it come when we we are able to let it go!
I am not sure what the future will bring us, but I know that right now, this opportunity to help India, Vivek, and his purpose, I will not lose!
What is that you see emerging, what is that you need to let it go, so whatever has to come, will come faster?
Thanks, Vivek, for bringing the sun to my day today, and a super big shiny sun!!!
