On 18th June, 2024, The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change extended the deadline for filing annual returns for PIBOs and Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) for the fiscal year 2023-24. The revised deadline is September 30, 2024. This extension for registration of PIBOs and PWPs follows a letter from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) dated May 29, 2024, and has been approved by the Competent Authority. This decision is aimed at facilitating filing processes and enhancing plastic waste management. By providing additional time for compliance, the ministry aims to improve efforts in reducing pollution caused by unmanaged plastic waste.
