Extend Your Reach! A Newsletter for Acceleration, Issue No. 28

Welcome to Extend Your Reach! A newsletter designed to bring you the best tips, tricks, and resources to help you grow and succeed in both your personal and professional life. In this newsletter, we will be highlighting five different areas of focus to help you extend your reach and accelerate your growth.

A Book You Should Read -Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferriss. Tribe of Mentors is a collection of over 100 mini-interviews, where some of the world's most successful people share their ideas around habits, learning, money, relationships, failure, success, and life. Tim decided he’d assemble a?Tribe of Mentors and ask them all the same 11 questions about books, habits, investments, attitudes and lessons learned. The result is a fun little compendium of advice from the best. Some will shock you, few will suit you, fewer yet serve you, but that’s precisely the point: you grow with the book, rather than out of it. Check it out.

A Small Business You Should Support - Fore Fathers . Fore Fathers set out to create dad clothing that is above and beyond so that it could keep up with dads who go above and beyond. Their team of Dad designers set out to build performance clothing because there wasn't an existing line that represented dads. In order to fit the Dad lifestyle, they took their favorite Dadisms and printed them on the best performing materials (and to fit a Dad Bod). When a group of Dads felt torn about their fashion identities after becoming young fathers, Fore Fathers was born. They played sports and wore Jordans, so on the one hand they still felt fashionable and active, but on the other side they were now Dads and didn't believe their clothing reflected their passion of being Dads. Thus they started their quest to improve fatherhood clothing.

A Person You Should Follow on LinkedIn - Andrew Huberman . Andrew D. Huberman is an American podcaster and neuroscientist. He is an associate professor of neurobiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He cranks out super insightful content backed by data. Most recently I was intrigued by a study that he did on children that excel based on different feedback. The data shows that children who perform well on an exam and are given the feedback of, “You’re so smart” performed lower on the second exam than children within the same criteria/parameters that were told, “You worked really hard to get that grade.”

A Podcast You Should Listen To - National Park After Dark . People from all over the world are visiting National Parks in record numbers, and for good reason! These places are brimming with beauty and inspire reconnection with our wild world. But with more and more people entering our parks, more and more of them – never leave. Hosts Cassie and Danielle have been friends for years, bonding over a love for the outdoors and what can go wrong there. Join them every week as they enter a new park to explore its beauty – and its darkness. Check it out.

A Verse From the Bible -? Finally, let’s get to the best part of this newsletter and the Lord’s word.

Ephesians 2:8–9

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

God’s grace not only offers salvation but also secures it. The Christian’s salvation is fully secured through faith. Faith is a confident trust and reliance upon Christ Jesus and is the only means by which one can obtain salvation. this. Accordingly, “this” points to the whole process of “salvation by grace through faith” as being the gift of God and not something that we can accomplish ourselves. Salvation, therefore, in every respect, is not your own doing. How do you repay grace? With faith. That’s the only way.

All in all, I hope by looking into one or all of these five areas of your life, you can extend your reach and accelerate your personal and professional growth. I hope this newsletter has been helpful and I look forward to sharing more with you next time!
