Welcome to Extend Your Reach! A newsletter designed to bring you the best tips, tricks, and resources to help you grow and succeed in both your personal and professional life. In this newsletter, we will be highlighting five different areas of focus to help you extend your reach and accelerate your growth.?
A Book You Should Read - Go-Givers Sell More by Bob Burg and John David Mann . Amazing book and applying the principles of this book has significantly improved my approach to networking. With their national bestseller The Go-Giver, Bob Burg and John David Mann took the business world by storm, showing that giving is the most fulfilling and effective path to success. That simple, profound story has inspired hundreds of thousands of readers around the world-but some have wondered how its lessons stand up to the tough challenges of everyday real-world business. Now Burg and Mann answer that question in Go-Givers Sell More, a practical guide that makes giving the cornerstone of a powerful and effective approach to selling. Most of us think of sales as convincing potential customers to do something they don't really want to. This mentality sets up an adversarial relationship and makes the sales process much harder than it has to be. As Burg and Mann demonstrate, it's far more productive (and satisfying) when salespeople think like Go-Givers. Cultivate a trusting relationship and focus exclusively on creating value for the other person, say the authors, and great results will follow automatically.?

A Podcast You Should Listen To - Cleared Hot with Andy Stumpf. Check out this episode where we delve into the emotional and ethical complexities surrounding life-altering decisions. From exploring the remorse a law enforcement officer may feel after taking a life in the line of duty, to addressing the torment of a listener who saved a friend from suicide only to witness their life spiral into crime and violence. He encourages you to reflect on the weight of our choices, the responsibilities we bear, and the empathy needed to navigate life's gray areas. Andy is super insightful and I love the way he approaches some very deep topics. Check him out, but be advised that you may end up listening to more than one episode. It is that good.?
A Verse From the Bible -??Finally, let’s get to the best part of this newsletter and the Lord’s word.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. - Genesis 1: 1-3
It has been estimated that Moses recorded the essence of the book of Genesis sometime after the time of the exodus out of Egypt in 15th Century BC. While he may have had access to oral history and artifacts, perhaps even some Egyptian documents, it was God who would have inspired and informed his writing. Chapter One introduces the creative expression of God. The book of Genesis is the foundation for the theology of work. Genesis is incomparably significant for the theology of work because it tells the story of God’s work of creation, the first work of all and the prototype for all work that follows. Within the created universe, God is present in relationship with his creatures and especially with people. Laboring in God’s image, we work in creation, on creation, with creation and if we work as God intends for creation.
All in all, I hope by looking into one or all of these five areas of your life, you can extend your reach and accelerate your personal and professional growth. I hope this newsletter has been helpful and I look forward to sharing more with you next week!
