Expression of Interest

This is not really a job advertisement, but it kind of is…

I’m looking for someone to help take care of one of the most precious assets I own in the world – our family charity, Give Write (givewrite.org.au).

My wife Anita, our son Ben and I started Give Write in late 2019 with the purpose to help WA kids in need.? Anita had been running the organisation in a voluntary capacity as Founder / CEO and Chair of our Board.

We were devastated to lose Anita in June this year after she passed away suddenly as a result of complications with her liver and kidney transplant in April 2020.

We have been contemplating the future of Give Write and are now seeking someone to drive this wonderful organisation into the future. Ben (our son) has been managing the daily operations for the last few months, but he is off on other adventures in early 2024, hence this expression of interest.

The Organisation

Give Write exists to help Western Australia kids in need.? We take donations of new and pre-loved school stationery and recycle, repackage and regift to WA kids, so they have the tools to feel engaged and inspired to learn.

The organisation was founded in November 2019 and in four years has helped more than 11,000 WA kids, thousands of WA teachers, hundreds of volunteers and recycled tonnes of donations that would have gone to landfill.

We have a great, modern office located in Subiaco.

The Role

We are looking for someone to take control of this incredible not-for-profit and drive all aspects of the organisation forward.? The role is completely flexible in terms of days and hours worked and reports directly to the Chair of the Board (which is me!).

The key task in the initial few months is to focus on consolidating the financial future through securing funding via grants and donations and developing sustainable revenue streams.

In addition to generating income, you will need to manage the daily operations of the organisations, responding to donors, teachers, and stakeholders.

This is certainly not a role should be considering for the money…?

Skills and Experience

You ideally have experience with business development (writing grants), marketing and all aspects of running a successful business, ideally not-for-profit.? Most importantly you should be motivated by the purpose of Give Write and excited by the idea of helping WA kids in need.?
