Expression of appreciation

I wish to express my appreciation to those now following the Spacefaring Institute LLC.

I established the Spacefaring Institute in 2009 to provide a vehicle for advocating why American must become and how America can become a true human spacefaring nation. I put together the above chart to communicate the vision on what needs to be achieved, the mission describing how this is to be achieved, and to emphasize that the starting point—as in opening any new frontier—is to first establish the logistics capabilities enabling "regularized" human spacefaring operations throughout the Earth-Moon system. The name I coined for the needed astrologistics capabilities is the "Astral Highway" ?. I graphically incorporated the primary elements of this Astral Highway in the Spacefaring Institute's logo.

I have been involved with advancing America's practicable astrologistics capabilities since the mid-1980s. What is now being done in America in this area is, very unfortunately, barely scratching the surface of what America could now be undertaking—and should have been undertaking for several decades—had America's substantial human spacefaring industrial mastery been properly utilized. America spent decades building this mastery only to let it be put into "mothballs" by several decades of poor national space and space transportation policies and general governmental neglect and mismanagement—especially in the area of achieving operationally safe human spaceflight capabilities.

I included the Venn diagram in the chart to convey how all three of those primary spacefaring goals share the need for robust and regularized astrologistics capabilities. The key point I wish to convey to you is that achieving such astrologistics capabilities is not just another fantasy. In fact, America now has the capability to begin quickly to build the first elements of the needed Astral Highway in Low Earth Orbit. (And, no, I am not talking about Starship.)

With the new presidential administration and a general growing awareness in Congress of the importance of outer space to America's national security, prosperity, and future clean energy security (i.e., space solar power-supplied astroelectricity), through the Spacefaring Institute I will be striving to inform and influence how America proceeds in transitioning into a true human spacefaring nation. In short, the goal is to make the dream real—finally!!
