Express Entry Draw | IRCC Invites Candidates with French Language Proficiency

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has held another Express Entry draw, inviting 800 candidates to apply for permanent residency. This draw was part of Express Entry’s category-based selection process aimed at individuals with French-language proficiency. To be eligible, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 466.

In November, a total of six Express Entry draws were held, issuing a total of 5,507 ITAs for permanent residence. The most recent draw on December 4 follows a PNP-focused draw that was held on December 2, targeting candidates from the Express Entry pool.

Regular draws targeting Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) candidates are expected to continue, with the upcoming ‘In-Canada’ focus category targeting CEC candidates and other regional programs, potentially including those from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

Under Canada's new Immigration Levels Plan, the ‘In-Canada’ focus category will account for more than 40% of next year's permanent residence admissions, with 82,980 spots allocated. Additionally, ITAs for French-speaking candidates outside Quebec are set to increase in 2025, with 29,235 admissions planned, and further growth expected in 2026 and 2027 as part of IRCC's Francophone immigration strategy.
