Exposing Psychometrics

There are three things to consider before subjecting yourself and others to psychometrics.

1. Is your psychometric of choice inclusive? Does it truly value all the different ways of being? Does it describe all preferences and behaviours favourably, constructively and positively, or are some more favourable than others? (Does this remind anyone of George Orwell’s Animal Farm? “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”). Are we really still doing this?
2. Does it minimize bias in measurement? Ask to see the questionnaire and cut to the chase by looking at the statements on introversion and extraversion. Is extraversion worded more positively than introversion? Where is Susan Cain when you need her? Susan has gifted us all with her masterpiece.

Wikipedia: "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking" is a 2012 non-fiction book written by Susan Cain. Cain argues that modern Western culture misunderstands and undervalues the traits and capabilities of introverted people, leading to "a colossal waste of talent, energy, and happiness".

3. Does it look at the dynamics within the individual? We illustrate your three personalities, which are directly measured and not inferred.
