Exposed: Lazy Agencies Who Refuse To Think For Themselves!

A new client showed me a competitor’s email that they’d like to “model” for their store.

On the most part, I think trying to copy another store’s email style is a big mistake.

It’s far better to try to stand out and be different, in my opinion.

Anyway, I was sent the email as an example and I took a long hard look at it…

I examined it…

I got a good whiff of it…

I sniffed…

I leaned in…

Something wasn’t right.?

No, something was seriously wrong here.

I’d seen this email before!

Just from ANOTHER store. Yes, another store pretty much sent the exact same email as this one.

How is this possible you ask??

Easy. Because they all use the same templates!

Here’s my best guess:

A) The store has gone onto Google and typed in “Email Templates” or just picked a “Stock Template” from their email provider.

Or worse,?

B) The Agency — who invoices them each month — uses the same template for all of their clients - to save time.

It could be either option, not that it matters to me.

Because the stores I work with have everything made from FRESH - like pancakes.

(had pancakes the other day so it’s in my mind)

Now here’s my questions to you, O reader:

What do you think happens when a customer gets an onslaught of same-looking emails from different stores?

How responsive do you think they will be?

And why do lazy agencies just copy and paste templates for their clients — and then have the nerve to charge for it, like they’ve done some original work or something?

You see, it’s hard to think.

Seriously, it actually burns calories! It’s much harder to think of something unique and different than to rely on a template.

Long story short.?

Here was my response to the client:

“This email is no good. It’s just a simple template. I can do something like this for you, if you want, but it’s not challenging me very much. We can do much better than this!”

Anyway, enuf for now - manz hungry!
