The Export Service is now available in beta

We’ve reached a big milestone in the Export Service,
making it easier for agricultural businesses to export
from Australia.?

Read about what we’ve recently released and what’s
coming up in 2022.?

?In 2021, we started our journey to deliver digital services to make it easier for Australian businesses to export.??

We’re now pleased to share that the new Export Service is now available in beta to all businesses with export registered establishments.?

‘Beta’ means that we’re trialling the digital service so we can continue to improve it based on your feedback.??

At present, the Export Service supports three important user needs:?

  1. Export registered establishments can make changes online?
  2. Meat processing establishments can view hygiene data on a performance dashboard?
  3. Establishments receiving ‘corrective actions’ from an audit can provide evidence online?

And, so far, users are excited about the beta.

“Found the system a lot easier to use… Just the speed of it, it’s quite clear, simple and easy to understand.”?

Making changes to establishments online?

Last year we blogged about the work we’ve been doing to allow export registered establishments to make changes online.??

Businesses with export establishments often lodge changes with the department, including:?

  • when new staff join ‘management and control’ of the business?
  • to export to a new overseas market?
  • to export a new commodity to an existing market?
  • when making building changes to the establishment?

With the Export Service, it’s quick and easy to make these changes online without the need to complete a paper EX26b form.?

Performance dashboards for meat hygiene data?

Through the Product Hygiene Indicators Program, meat processing establishments provide the department with hygiene data on slaughter and boning operations.??

These establishments can now use the Export Service to view and compare their own hygiene performance data against the national benchmarks.?

Addressing ‘corrective actions’ from audits?

If issues are identified when an export establishment is audited, ‘corrective action requests’ can be issued which set out what a business needs to do.?

In a limited trial, establishments receiving corrective actions can now use the Export Service to submit evidence to demonstrate that the action has been taken.?

Signing in with digital identity?

Businesses can sign into the Export Service with a digital identity and the Relationship Authorisation Manager. It’s the same way you sign into other government business services, like tax.?

If you’re creating a digital identity for the first time, we’ve written guidance to help you get set up. Our team can also help - call us on 1800 571 125 (9am - 5pm AEST Monday to Friday) or send us an email at [email protected].?

What we’re working on next?

Under the Taking Farmers to Market program, the team delivering the Export Service continues to grow.?

We’re working on making it possible for businesses to register new establishments online. This will replace the EX26a form.?

We’re expanding the meat hygiene dashboards to include new data on plant sanitation, condemnations, and making it easy to compare seasonality.?

We’re also expanding the export account to support payments and notifications.?

Watch this space?

There’s more work being done to reduce red tape and save Australian exporters time and money.??

We want you to be involved in further work on the Export Service whether you’re on the farm, or in logistics, auditing or finance.

Email [email protected] to stay in the loop and get involved in testing new features before they go live.??
