Yesterday, I wrote an article about the biggest things ever transported, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to explore more about massive-scale topics in the logistics industry. Today, I dived into the world of the longest on-road trucking routes, some of which span entire continents and cover vast distances. ????
The I-90 Highway
Let's start with a familiar route. Can you imagine? Covering around 3,020 miles, I-90 is the longest Interstate Highway in the United States. It stretches from Seattle, Washington, to Boston, Massachusetts. This route is essential for coast-to-coast trucking, connecting the West and East coasts efficiently. If you're like me and live near this colossal highway, you probably drive on it daily without realizing its significance in the world of logistics. ???????
The Pan-American Highway
Wow! This incredible route stretches from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushuaia in Argentina, covering over 19,000 miles. While it's not typically driven end-to-end by a single truck, it frequently serves long-haul trucking needs. Various segments of this highway run through the United States, Central America, and South America, making it a critical artery for transporting goods across the Americas. ????
The Trans-Canada Highway
Can you believe it? Spanning approximately 4,860 miles, this highway runs from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Victoria, British Columbia, in an east-to-west direction. It's one of the world's most continuous highways, playing a vital role in moving goods by truck across Canada. ?????? (Feels like its Canadian I-90)

The Eurasian Highway (Route E40)
Extending from Calais, France, to Ridder, Kazakhstan, this route covers more than 5,300 miles. This is one of the major thoroughfares for carriers traveling between Europe and Asia, facilitating significant trade and transportation activities. ????
China National Highway 010 (G010)
Impressive! This highway stretches over 3,500 miles, running from Heilongjiang Province through Tongjiang to Hainan Province, ending at Sanya. It's one of the longest highways in China, serving as a critical route for trucking and transportation across the country. ??????
Exploring these colossal routes has given me a newfound appreciation for the logistics industry's scale and complexity. These highways are not just roads—they're lifelines that keep our global economy moving.
