Now, although we are fans of Friday drinks in the office, one team member has a deep-rooted passion for one drink in particular: Jenny and Tequila. With Copita Mezcal & Tequila Tasting Festival coming up in Glasgow this weekend (the city’s infamous tequila fest), we haven’t heard the end of it, so in honour of Jenny’s favourite day of the year. Here are some of her Tequila favs:
Casamigas with Cindy Crawford - This recent twist from the Casamigos, found co-founders George Clooney and Cindy's husband, Rande Gerber, cater to those picante lovers by releasing a female-inspired jalapeno Tequila. Whilst Tequila is hot right now, spicy Tequila is even hotter, with spicy margs becoming a fan favourite. Whilst the spicy flavour is very popular, Casamigas also breaks down the brand's more masculine rugged edge by introducing a familiar female face, making the brand more inclusive and offering variety for consumers. One of Jenny’s favourite things about this new product was the subtle name change to amigas (for the girlies), the bottle offering an exclusive smooch from Cindy herself, and the infamous Crawford beauty mark… now that’s what we call a trademark!
El Rayo - Tequila and Tonic, a refreshing take on a highball version of the spirit. The brand caters to all, with the drink being so versatile. Using something familiar such as the tonic, entices those consumers who are slightly more apprehensive, and to those who aren’t scared of Tequila… well it gives them a different way to drink it. It’s clean, it’s fresh and it lets the flavour shine rather than disguising it. Many of the brand's designs are inspired by the colourful art and design scene in Mexico, which makes for extremely aesthetically pleasing and energising creative elements of the brand. Pass us a T&T this summer, El Rayo has certainly put us in the mood.

Casadragones - After hearing that Oprah drinks this, Jenny was intrigued, and had received this as a special gift. Now it sits in its box, in her bar nook, and is only enjoyed occasionally because of how special it is. Female founder and Mexican businesswoman, Bertha González Nieves, is big on the quality and taste of the product, which is evident from the first sip. In order to celebrate the tradition, craftmanship and history of tequila it is becoming increasingly important in today’s booming agave industry to celebrate the Mexican-owned brands, which can be pushed to the side in an increasingly commercialised market. This is the perfect gift for your tequila lovers who like the finer things in life and enjoy honouring the heritage of Tequila.
And on that note, arriba, abajo, al centro, y pa’ dentro!
