Exploring variable relationships. HLFF and U value.

Exploring variable relationships. HLFF and U value.

In the endeavour of discovering ways that Parametric environments, Evolutionary optimization and computational means can aid in Passive House design, I've been doing a bit of exploration.

Starting with the basic variables of the envelope and how they interact and influence each other. To hopefully gain a better understanding of how to Utilize powerful tools like Wallacei. Reading into the work of Elrond Burrell, Roberto Gonzalo and Rainer Vallentin's Passive House Design (DETAIL Green Book). Looking into the relationship between Heat Loss Form Factor and U-value. I decided to try things out in Rhino/Gh.

With there being a relationship between HLFF as mentioned in the above article by Elrond Burrell. I set up a quick and simple geometry pipeline and a heat loss surface area / TFA calculation and the HLFF and U value calculation and then manipulated the geometry.

Fun stuff! Definitely will be delving deeper into this relationship.
