Exploring TM1 dependencies

One of the challenges of supporting and analyzing existing TM1 models is to get the dependencies within your model.
You can get good help if the dependency is based on rules with the rule tracer but if it comes to ti processes your almost lost. Maybe you only want to know which processes are called or which cubes are affected by a special process --> open the process and start reading.
If you want to know more about the whole chain the process is in it’s another story. Start a search within all process files where your process name is used, now continue with this process names and so on.
Wouldn’t it be helpful to get a graphical overview of the dependencies?
I’m working currently on such a tool.
Maybe you can tell me if you think this will help you and which features you think would be good to have in such a tool.
Here you can see the current version of what I have done till now. (The names of the cubes and processes are available but not shown here ??)

1 年In some of the cases we are executing multiple process in single TI, so if that could also be traced with source associated with that will make our life easy. Also let me know how this tool can be used once developed?

1 年I think Cubewise #pulse is doing a good job here. The problem is that there are so many ways to call processes. A general solution is hard to create. IMHO it is way easier to build a solution specific for your model.

1 年Recursive processing through changing parameter values will be a challenge too.
