Exploring the Latest in Mountain Lake Home Design: PDI at the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Lake Burton Designer Showhouse

This year, PDI had the pleasure of collaborating with designer Michele Gratch of Michele Gratch Interiors on the 2024 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles ' Lake Burton Designer Showhouse. As the home’s spec designer, Michelle carefully selected the plumbing and lighting elements and designed several spaces that reflect the essence of refined mountain living. Other talented designers brought their unique perspectives to additional rooms, together creating a home that captures the serene harmony of lake and mountain life.

For homeowners considering a renovation or new build, the Lake Burton Designer Showhouse showcases the latest in mountain lake home trends, blending rugged natural beauty with sophisticated touches for a seamless, peaceful living experience.

Maggie Griffin of Maggie Griffin Design

Earthy Tones and Artful Touches: A palette of reds, greens, and earthy browns, combined with vintage furniture, floral wallpapers, and eclectic art, creates a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for mountain living.

Unique Art and Vintage Finds: Mix in vintage furniture, eclectic artwork, and mirrors to give your home character. The layered look adds charm and makes the space feel like it’s evolved over time.

Utilize Small Spaces in Unique Ways: In mountain homes, maximizing small spaces is essential. Built-In Bunk Beds with Creative Lighting: Incorporating built-in bunk beds is a fantastic way to maximize space, especially in guest rooms or kids’ areas. Adding thoughtful lighting around the bunks—such as sconces or recessed lights—creates a cozy and functional nook that enhances both style and comfort.
