EXPLORING the ICEBERG

EXPLORING the ICEBERG

The Story of the Pink and Blue Booties or Why Respecting CULTURES is a Failing Prospect

Part 5/7

Living in Balance

This is our journey through life, to return to our original Self; to paradoxically live in opposites without conflict; to balance our guide and dragon.

For dependent baby, The Pleasure Principle is survival. However, for an immature adult with counterfeit confidence, The Pleasure Principle gravitates to the dark side as it is amoral, selfish and has no regard for time. Within the immature person believing in sorry self-esteem and counterfeit confidence, The Pleasure Principle wreaks havoc via the dragon.

Nature and Nurture: Putting It Together

In nature, the mother’s womb coddles an egg for fertilization. Our unconscious coddles our androgynous nurturing egg. When the natural egg is fertilized and splits to an embryo, the androgynous nurturing egg begins to take on Male/Female genders and, also, splits. As the embryo in the mother’s womb is developing into a baby, the male/female nurturing egg in our unconscious-Self begins developing our archetypes, are dispositions – each holding our guide and dragon.

Culture and Ego are vital to keep us civil. Ego represses the Archetypes because Culture fears the dragon rearing its ‘ugly’ head and we have to be civil. And this is the beginning of Culture’s surreptitious deceits. Culture actually wants to distance us from our guide to dismiss us learning of our treasures and Sincere Self-esteem. Culture sees Sincere Self-esteem as leading to rebellion as it can stand up for itself, accept other cultural differences and, therefore, our Culture believes it will not survive.

Unless we choose to take another life path, we live what we have learned. As we get older and after learning the attitude of Culture we, ourselves, take on that task of donning the right mask for the situation. We repress our own archetypes and our own treasures. We move from being surreptitiously oppressed to repressing our archetypes and treasures. We have become imbedded in the Culture in which we are raised. Culture survives.

Part 6/7

The Double Edged Sword

First, knowing ourselves deeply would emerge our Sincere Self-esteem and authentic confidence to inspire us to create a right Culture of our choosing. This would undermine Culture’s primary task.  We and the world see only portions of us. Our original totality – the Self – is seemingly unreachable within us. In fact, we are not even aware of these treasures within! Hence, we are not internally inspired to Explore the Iceberg and find our treasures deep within.

Second, we see the dragon because we repress the archetypes. The dragon is disrespected. It looks for an opportune moment to reach out and trip us up, embarrass us or to hurt someone. In the very least, have you ever thought something about someone with no intention of saying it – but did? Have you ever embarrassed or hurt someone without meaning to? The dragon has fun at our expense by embarrassing us or worse. Its basic intent is for us to pay attention and respect it.

Because we repress ourselves we look, only, outside ourselves. Therefore, we project our dragon onto the world and others. Hence, we attend the bad news more than the good news. We attend others more than ourselves. We inflict rather than inspire and deflect rather than reflect.

Culture and Ego enable us to explore just as deep as they deem this limit for themselves. This is another deception that has entrapped us and, further, so we will avoid excavating any treasure deep within as this may lead to a contravention of Culture’s primary task.

We are driven by Culture’s attitude of being ‘better-than’ another. Culture teaches us to oppress the treasures in others for us to shine over. Our attitude is imbedded in Culture and some believe they have enough self-esteem which is actually counterfeit confidence. This belief is very much understated and insidious. We are so deeply imbedded that most would deny this shrewd belief to be prevalent.

The more Sincere Self-esteem we have the less we need Ego for protection and safety. Ego doesn’t like this notion. No encouragement is provided by Ego for us to emerge our Sincere Self-esteem. Rather, there is encouragement to repress it – hence, we manifest our overt sorry self-esteem and counterfeit confidence. Sincere Self-esteem is repressed so Ego advances the mask of bravado or conceit to make up for our lack. This bravado acts as a catalyst to look for what is wrong with the other. This, then, gives Culture and Ego more power over us.

Diversity makes our world both challenging and stronger and wiser. Yet, instructed by Culture, the self creates the notions that ‘if you are not-like-us then you are different; and, if you are different you’re ‘not-as-good-as’ us because ‘we’ are the best.
