Students of St Catherine's British School, Athens, Greece had the privilege of participating in the 'Made in Italy' event organised by the Embassy of Italy on Friday, April 19th. It was an enlightening experience, bringing together educators, students, and industry leaders to celebrate the rich heritage of Italian art, fashion, and culture.
Mr. Giornetti took us on a captivating journey through the annals of Italian art history, from the iconic works of the Renaissance to the vibrant contemporary scene. At the heart of Mr. Giornetti's discourse was the concept of Italian fashion as a ‘perfect combination of form and function, in harmony with the body’, emphasising creativity paired with superb craftsmanship and affordability.
In the subsequent Q&A session, students learned that success in the fashion industry hinges on creativity, teamwork, diligent effort, and honing their unique style. They also explored Polimoda , the fashion school in Florence, Italy, a global leader in fashion education, offering diverse courses in design and business. The school has strong links in the fashion industry and prioritises practical learning, providing ample chances for students to garner real-world experience through internships and partnerships with top fashion entities.
The 'Made in Italy' event served as a catalyst for dialogue, learning, and inspiration. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Massimiliano Giornetti and the Embassy of Italy for their invaluable contributions. #ItalianFashion #FashionHistory #Polimoda #FashionSchool
