Last week, Trevor attended?Ei Live a showcase of innovation in residential technology. Here are some of his key takeaways from the show.
"Last Thursday, I took the opportunity to explore EI Live! Show , where cutting-edge tech for the home cinema market from JVC, SONY, and Epson was being demonstrated. These brands are truly pushing the boundaries of what's possible in-home cinema, and it was great to see their offerings first-hand!"
Epson UK & I Demonstrated its new EH-QL3000 projector with its quirky yet attractive chassis design. This projector has impressive colour accuracy, produces excellent images, and has a fleet of optional powered lenses, including the zero-offset UST lens* which opens up numerous possibilities for large-scale images in bright environments. This is a fantastic option for those looking for a projector that doesn’t require “bat cave darkeness” due to its ability to impress even in bright environments. We anticipate these will starting shipping next month.
A big highlight for me was the @Sony stand, where I saw the Bravia Projector 8 (VPL-XW6100ES) and Bravia Projector 9 (VPL-XW8100ES). These 4K home cinema projectors are redefining the viewing experience with extraordinary brightness, colour accuracy, and depth, taking immersion to the next level. Sony's new XR processor claims are justified! These models produce rich, deep blacks, finite detail, and colours that really pop.
On the JVC Stand, I was privy to a live demonstration of the?NZ900! This is?JVC DiLA at its very best. Redesigned chips and optics result in flawless images, truly enhancing the viewing experience.

*(A zero-offset Ultra Short Throw (UST) lens is a type of projector lens that eliminates the gap between the top of the image and the ceiling or projector mounting surface. This allows for seamless coverage over walls and can create shadow-free images that go floor-to-ceiling. Zero-offset UST lenses are ideal for small spaces, narrow spaces, and rear-projection applications),
