Exploring the Football?Heritage

It had been a while since our last story, in which we discussed the heart of football — stadiums, that were visited by several members of our team.?

This week we are going to take a look at the museums that are housed within these stadiums.

??? Zurich is home to a treasure trove of football history and passion — the FIFA Museum.

Plans for a museum dedicated to the “History of World Football” in Zurich were proposed by the then FIFA President and the FIFA Executive Committee in 2012. And this incredible museum was opened in 2016.

?? The 3,500 m2 museum occupies the lower three floors of the renovated Haus zur Enge, a mixed-use building in the Enge district.?The project cost was over 563 million dollars.

?? The museum houses over one thousand?objects.?

Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by an interactive exhibition space on three floors that offers a comprehensive exploration of football’s rich heritage and shows the evolution of the sport.

? The museum’s exhibits are carefully curated, with each section offering a unique insight into the various aspects of football.

Visitors can view priceless artifacts, including iconic jerseys worn by legends, historic footballs, and trophies that have graced the world’s greatest?stages.

?? This includes memorabilia from every FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup, the most famous of which is the original FIFA World Cup Trophy.

?? The exhibition features various interactive and multimedia installations, such as mini-football tracks similar to mini-golf courses and an audiovisual media installation called “Visions of Football” with 8-meter LED screens.

Interactive displays allow visitors to test their skills in virtual penalty shootouts, try their hand at commentating on famous matches, and even experience the thrill of being a referee in a high-stakes game.

RCD Espanyol?Museum

?? The RCD Espanyol Museum is a fascinating destination for club fans and football enthusiasts alike. The museum is located in the Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, the home stadium of RCD Espanyol in Barcelona, Spain.

??? The RCD Espanyol Museum offers a wide range of exhibits that take visitors on a journey through the club’s history.

??? They can explore the evolution of the team’s crest and colors, discover the stories of legendary players who have worn the club’s jersey and relive memorable moments from iconic matches.

?? The exhibits also include a remarkable collection of trophies, medals, more than 100 shirts, boots, and other memorabilia.

?? The museum also didn’t miss out on technology. It features interactive displays and multimedia installations that provide an immersive experience, including a room with 360o video on the history of RCD Espanyol.

Visitors can interact with touch screens, watch historical footage and listen to audio recordings to learn more about the club’s achievements in the world of football.

?? RCD Espanyol Museum is a good place for family days, offering activities and workshops for younger visitors. This is an important trend that aims to encourage a love of football in the younger generation.

It’s time to talk about the museum of one of the world’s most famous football clubs — FC Barcelona. ???

?? As one of the most visited museums in Catalonia, it holds the legacy of FC Barcelona. Located inside Camp Nou, the museum’s location adds an extra layer of significance to the overall experience, as visitors can feel the energy and ambience of the club’s hallowed ground.

?? The museum features a series of exhibition rooms that showcase different aspects of FC Barcelona’s journey over the years.

? The Players’ Room is a must-see for anyone who is fascinated by the players who have graced the pitch in the famous Blaugrana jersey.

??? Visitors can relive the most memorable moments of the club’s history through technology in the Multimedia Room.?

With interactive displays and touch screens, visitors can test their knowledge with quizzes, watch historical footage and explore interactive games.

?? As we mentioned in a previous post about the stadium, the DSP team had a visit to the Camp Nou stadium in October 2022.

?? Due to the huge reconstruction of Camp Nou that has started, we are curious to see how the club’s museum will change in the restructured stadium, and what new solutions and entertainment for fans will be implemented.

Real Madrid C.F.?Museum

??? Located in the legendary Santiago Bernabeu, the Real Madrid FC Museum takes visitors on a journey through the triumphs of this legendary football institution.

Its fame attracts football enthusiasts and curious tourists alike, making the Santiago Bernabeu one of Madrid’s most popular destinations.

?? A display of the club’s collection of trophies, medals, and memorabilia that tell the story of the club’s success in various competitions greets visitors as they enter the museum.

? The Players Room is the museum’s sacred space, where the legacy of Real Madrid’s greatest players comes alive.

Visitors can discover the history of legendary players such as Alfredo Di Stefano, Raul, Zinedine Zidane, Ferenc Puskas, Cristiano Ronaldo, and other iconic figures who have donned the famous all-white jersey through carefully curated exhibits and lifelike?statues.

?? There is also a multimedia room that is a dynamic hub of both information and entertainment.

Visitors can relive historic matches and highlights through displays that take them back in time. Fans can test themselves with quizzes and participate in interactive games.

??? In addition, an exhibition dedicated to the history of the stadium was created during the reconstruction.

Visitors will be able to recreate the most important milestones from the stadium inauguration in 1947 to the present day in an audio-visual show ???
