Exploring Daily Tasks and Challenges
I would like to thank Michael Bolton and others for the inspiration behind the Article Below.
Disclaimer: Your day will most likely look very different from what is being depicted in the article. There are so many different work environments and projects that involve different applications using different technologies....etc. That said you need to ask yourself the question that is posed at the end of this article.
Although a software tester's normal workday can differ based on the project, the following is a general idea of what it could entail:
Activity 1 - Stand-up Meeting in the Morning:
Talk about the tasks' progress.
Share any obstacles or problems.
Arrange the activities for the day.
Activity 2 - Planning and Designing Tests:
Examine the design documentation and requirements.
Explore, experiment, familarization with the product.
Identify and communicate risks based on the activities listed above.
Test scenarios should be created or updated in light of new features or modifications.
Determine the priority and extent of the tests that need to be run.
Activity 3 - Conducting the Test:
Execute tests with or without the assistance of a tool(s) after an analysis of said tests.
Note the outcomes and any flaws or problems that are discovered. Again determine and comminicate any potenial risks based on those outcomes.
To make sure that recent modifications haven't disrupted already-existing functionality, conduct regression testing.
Activity 4 - Cooperation:

To comprehend the implementation and assist in reproducing errors, collaborate closely with developers, support or anyone else that is familar with the issue .
Work together with product managers to make sure the program satisfies user needs. Provide information about the state of the product in relation to the needs provided by the clients.
Take part in code and design reviews to offer a testing viewpoint.
Activity 5 - Management of Defects:
Use a bug tracking tool (this can vary dpending on need) to record and monitor issues.
Check and test the repaired flaws again.
Share the fault status with stakeholders and the development team.
Activity 6 - Records:
Test scenarios, test scripts, and test strategies should all be updated as necessary. Even though the focus should not be on documentation there is still a need to document. The documentation can act as a placeholder and a source of information for other members of the team.
Make reports for stakeholders and record test outcomes.
Activity 7 - Acquiring Knowledge and Enhancement:
Keep abreast on the most recent testing methods and technologies.
Attend workshops and training sessions. Recommended - Rapid Software Testing ( Rapid Software Testing — Rapid Software Testing ).
Examine testing procedures again through experimentation and exploration and make suggestions for process enhancements.
A software tester strikes a balance throughout the day between practical testing, teamwork, and ongoing education with the goal of contributing the software's overall quality.
