Following my previous post, A New Model for Freelance Writers, I’m considering partnering with a talented copy editor on a trial basis. The goal is to produce high-quality content more efficiently. You will enhance my written work by offering expert feedback, trimming unnecessary text, and identifying areas for improvement.

All suggestions must be based on professional experience, not AI-generated feedback.

THE WRITER'S ROLE: SETTING THE FOUNDATION

The writer (me) sources the work, conducts the research, and drafts the content. Initially, I will handle preliminary checks for spelling, grammar, and accidental plagiarism. I will also perform basic SEO checks, including keyword research, placement, and density.

THE COPY EDITOR'S ROLE: REFINING THE WORK

As the copy editor, you will focus on accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Your role includes offering constructive suggestions based on the shared content brief. If the partnership works well, you may go on to make direct edits and take a higher percentage of the project payment.
