Exploring Apple Intelligence feature as Indian Mac user - Joining and Activating Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system built into macOS Sequoia. This article primarily deals with joining Apple Intelligence program using Mac Laptop. Please note Apple Intelligence is currently in Beta stage

1) If you are an existing Mac User then we need to upgrade your mac OS to latest version of OS macOS Sequoia. Navigate to Software Update section to upgrade the same.

2) Please note that Apple Intelligence feature will not be available to join by default for Indian users if language is set to English (India). As a workaround navigate to System Setting > General > Language and Region and change preferred region To United States and preferred primary language to English US.

3) Navigate to System Setting > Apple Intelligence & Siri and change Language to English ( United States)

4) Restart your system post that for changes to take place.

5) Post restart Navigate to System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri and click on Join Apple Intelligence Waitlist. Wait for some time till Apple Intelligence is activated in your system. As for me i had to wait for an hour.

6) Once Apple Intelligence is activated then you will get notification in settings window. Click on System Settings > Applie Intelligence & Siri > Turn On Apple Intelligence

7) Click Continue

8) Click Summarize All Notifications Preview

9) Click on Continue in the screen displayed.

10) Apple Intelligence is turned on and ready to use

Note: All screenshots uploaded have been captured from personal device.

Will follow shortly with exploration of features available as part of Apple Intelligence.

Great Article, Amit sir! I tried the Apple Intelligence feature a couple of weeks ago when it launched, and while it has potential, I felt it still has a long way to go—especially with bugs in notification summarization. I eventually switched back to India as region to get rid of it. That said, your blog wonderfully captures the essence of the feature for Indian Mac users—insightful and very well-written! It'll be rolled out on pilot basis for other regions!
