Exploring AI in Writing and Marketing

Exploring AI in Writing and Marketing

My friend and writing expert Anne Janzer just completed the rough draft of her upcoming book - a significant milestone that marks the end of one creative journey and the beginning of another.

Anne has been integrating AI tools not just for writing but more innovatively in the brainstorming phase of her work. Drafting prompts for AI has unexpectedly turned into a critical exercise for clarifying thoughts and setting the stage for her content’s tone and style. This approach transforms initial AI outputs into springboards for further creativity, enhancing her marketing strategies. Notably, she finds tools like Perplexity and ChatGPT beneficial due to their search-focused capabilities and the inclusion of valuable links.

Experiments with BookSweeps

Anne recently embarked on a list-building adventure through BookSweeps, leveraging David Gaughran’s recommendation. She grew her email list substantially by participating in an Inspirational book bundle, although she noted that the solution might better suit genre fiction writers. It was a valuable experiment to identify the tools and platforms that best match her audience's preferences.

Continuing Engagement through Surveys and Classes

In her quest for deeper insights into nonfiction reading patterns, Anne Janzer has initiated a survey to gather valuable data. Understanding reader preferences and habits helps her tailor her writing to meet audience needs better. Moreover, Anne’s passion for workbooks is taking a new turn with her upcoming class hosted by Jane Friedman on creating successful workbooks. This class, scheduled for August 15th, offers strategies for crafting stand-alone workbooks or companions to nonfiction books, underscoring Anne’s commitment to providing practical tools for her readers.

Learn more and sign up for the class here.

Also, here is a subscription link for her book marketing list.

Anne continues to be a source of inspiration and a reservoir of knowledge, and her ongoing projects and explorations are something I highly admire and recommend keeping an eye on.

Warmest regards!?

Thanks for sharing this, Melissa! I'm having a lot of fun with using AI as an assistant—it even helped me come up with the title of the next book! (The words within the book remain strictly my own!)

i wish you two the best
