Explorers possess these 7 Traits
Martin Dugard writes in his Book "The Explorers" that Explorers possessed these 7 Traits-- curiosity, hope, passion, courage, independence, self-discipline and perseverance ---and that if you take any one away—just one—and an expedition was doomed to failure.
As I read the Story Line of this book, it describes my resume "|The Story of a Fearless Outcast, Blundering Genius obtaining Impossible Success!
All of us are explorers running in a race of life. All roads lead to where we stand .. yesterday is past and we must run while it is day .. today .. this day ..this race...we cannot run yesterday’s race or tomorrow’s race .. and cannot dwell on our successes or failures of the past... we must keep running life daily with agony “endurance” and perseverance....
Who of us would not benefit from possessing curiosity, hope, passion, courage, independence, self-discipline and perseverance ?
Curiosity - strong desire to know or learn something.
Hope- feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
Passion - strong and barely controllable emotion
Courage-strength in the face of pain or grief.
Independence-freedom from the influence, control, or determination of another or others.
Self Discipline - the ability to control one's feelings and overcome one's weaknesses;
the ability to pursue what one thinks is right despite temptations to abandon it.
Perseverance - persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin (traps) that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
