The Women's Chapter? B Corp Certified
The Women’s Chapter champions women-led business and women in business. Connect. Inspire. Support. Thrive
Hello everyone
March was a big month! Not only was it International Women's Month, Women’s History Month, and the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, but also B Corp month.
Hopefully one day we will not need a month for women nor sustainability, but until then we will continue to advocate for gender equality and business as a force for good every single day and grab every opportunity to shout about it!
We believe in the exponential power of women as economic powerhouses and the role they can play to deliver climate solutions. We also know that when women thrive, all genders thrive.
A massive thank you to our community for making our March such an impactful month. We have featured some of our highlights from the month below, as well as a must-attend virtual panel discussion on the sustainability of our financial footprint.
As always, we have a host of member news and offers for you to enjoy too.
Panel Discussion: The Impact of Your Financial Footprint
We’re delighted to invite you to join a free virtual panel discussion, on Wednesday 8 May at 15:00, as part of our partnership with Investec Wealth & Investment (UK).
During the discussion?we will explore the importance of considering how sustainable your financial footprint is, welcoming guest speakers Jenn McGarrigle, co-founder of Cyd Connects, and May Al-Karooni, Founder of Globechain. Joining them both will be Wealth Planning Senior Director at Investec Wealth & Investment, Max Richardson.?
Founder of The Women’s Chapter, Michelle de Klerk, will host the conversation. The panel will talk openly and honestly about women as a key solution to the climate crisis, the impact of female-led businesses in this space, and where you can start to make smaller changes for the better.
You will have the opportunity to input into the conversation and ask the panel questions throughout.?
Please RSVP using the link, by Monday 6 May, to secure your place.
We are big believers in the ripple effect of change and women, through their actions and determination, possess a unique ability to spark change.
By recognising and leveraging their own influence, women can inspire their daughters, sisters, and friends to embrace self-belief, pursue passions, and navigate life’s challenges with strength.
This creates a ripple effect, extending beyond immediate circles to touch individuals, families, communities, and societies. As this ripple effect spreads from one woman to the next, it shapes a world where empowered women continually uplift and inspire future generations.
Seeing all these smiling faces and knowing the ripples that were started when we all gathered for our International Women's Day brunch make our heart sing.
Thank you to everyone who made such a special day possible.
We raised almost £6,000 for The Prince's Trust and know that the countless connections and conversations in the room will have created ripples of change for good far, far beyond that.
We are also very honoured to now be official Ambassadors for The Prince's Trust Women Supporting Women.

Every little helps and we feel very proud of how our community has rallied to support our fundraising initiatives for the Trust. In addition to pledging 5% of all membership fees to our selected charity partners, which include The Prince’s Trust, we also run a pro bono membership and mentoring programme in collaboration with them to support the next generation of female leaders.?
We will keep finding new ways to support the incredible work they do and hope you will join us to help ensure that young women’s futures are not predetermined by their circumstances.
FACING CHALLENGE: Some of the founders in our community shared some of the challenges they have faced and how they overcame them…
Karen Ruimy, Founder of Kalmar
“Being a brand that is ahead of its time and communicating to our community that Kalmar is not just a body care brand, it is a lifestyle, a way of life. Wellbeing is a holistic concept, for me. It starts inside, with really knowing who you are. It’s a connection to your deeper self, to your intuition.”
Morven Shaw & Debbie Wheeler, Co-Founders of Selaura
“We carried out our R&D and then launched in a pandemic, combined with Brexit! There were logistics challenges along the way, but always, always a solution – you just have to work around things to find them.”
Rosalie Millar-Evans, Founder of PrimeCoach
“Too many to capture here but I get a buzz from overcoming challenges – it is a real motivator for me. Realising we didn’t want to go the venture funding was pretty pivotal. It meant we had to rip up our strategy and start again which meant ‘letting go’ of all the time and energy we had committed. We routinely use our values to make important decisions and test our choices and that was critical in this case.”
Emma-Jane Elliott, Founder of CHALK PR & CHALK PR D.I.Y
“There have been team members who have left large holes in their wake both personally and professionally. Learning to accept that and keep the door open has been a really hard lesson to learn. Seeing them come back when the time is right in other capacities has been especially rewarding. Small businesses are tightly run communities, keeping the team feeling connected and supported is incredibly important to me.”
We are very honoured to have these fantastic women as founding members of our WomenLed Collective. Join our community of phenomenal women:
