Explore, experiment and execute: practical steps to implement AI
Heads of digital are fielding versions of the same question from their senior leadership: what are we doing with AI? In some cases, it’s more like a mandate: start doing something with the technology.
It’s no longer enough just to have a point of view; you also need a plan.
Working with our AI partner, Phased AI, we take a user-focused view of the technology and we move towards implementation in a three-step process: from initial discovery of potential uses to a working proof of concept and then from idea to deployable software. We name these phases Explore, Experiment and Execute.
“ Most people only read their insurance policy when they want to find out whether they’re covered for a specific scenario. That’s a perfect AI use case: what if you could save time instead of staying on hold to an agent? What if you can talk to your policy documents?”
In this month’s feature article, Each&Other’s Principal UX Designer Chris Donnelly is walking us through the stages of successful AI implementation; how to avoid making mistakes in the race against FOMO, solving the right problems and building on new opportunities.
Supporting great ideas
Since 2023, Each&Other have been delighted to support IDEATE Ireland. This not-for-profit initiative uncovers and empowers Ireland’s next generation of entrepreneurs, helping them to turn their brilliant ideas into thriving international businesses.
As great ideas can come from anyone and anywhere, IDEATE Ireland is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students and graduates from any 3rd-level academic institution or research centre on the island of Ireland. The ten best submissions participate in a 10-week mentoring and support program and compete for a €20k prize fund. To date, 333 of Ireland’s brightest minds from 41 academic institutions have participated in the competition and have gone on to raise €48+M in funding and in the process created hundreds of jobs. Our involvement includes sharing our design industry expertise, providing advice and mentorship to the finalists as they hone their products and services looking for that elusive market fit. The feedback from the participants is that this is one of the best start-up programmes around as it really puts them through their paces helping them to get to the next level where they can go to market and raise capital to grow. ? IDEATE Ireland is currently searching for its 2024 cohort of entrepreneurs.
