Expert Tips For Traveling Safely With Kids This Covid-19 Holiday Season

Traveling home for the holidays is a tradition many Americans, perhaps especially those with children, look forward to all year long. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has proven adept at ruining plans in 2020, with this annual holiday migration home joining a long list of events public health officials now say may be too dangerous to partake in.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has been clear on their recommendation: “Travel increases the chance of getting and spreading the virus that causes Covid-19. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others.” But in a year when so much else has been taken away, it’s not surprising that some families are choosing to ignore that advice.

If you’re among those determined to head home this holiday season, despite rising Covid-19 numbers, experts have some tips for at least doing so as safely as possible.
