“Some functions and applications in NetSuite won't return the value of a custom formula field because the value is not stored. To ensure that the value can be retrieved and read from the database I create two fields, one which is the calculated formula field and one for storing the value. You then create a custom workflow that takes the result from the calculated field and sets the value in the field set up for storing the result. You can then use the 2nd field to read from for any functions or API's etc.”
