The experiment we’ve all been waiting for: ?? vs. ????
If you had to describe your relationship with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, would you say you’re more in the talking stage? Not sure where it’s going? Feeling content? Or maybe it’s complicated?
No matter where your relationship (or situationship) stands with AI right now, if you’re reading this newsletter, you’re probably aware that AI is everywhere. But we’re not in your inbox today to add more noise to the conversation or convince you to love it.
In this month’s edition of Love to Grow, we’re exploring AI through the lens of content marketing, research, and design. We hope this inspires you to find new ways of working with AI as an assistant (and friend) who makes your job easier—and ultimately grows your business.

AI vs. human: all in the name of content marketing science!?
Writing something worth reading isn’t easy. So can an AI writing tool do the research and create a great first draft for you while infusing it with wit and substance? Even worse, will it replace ‘real’ human writers altogether??
Hotjar’s Content team has tackled this question head-on and launched a new experiment, ahem, competition pitting ChatGPT against a human writer.
Read the full summary and explanation of our experiment. Psst: here’s what one reader had to say ??
We'll share the results in December, but until then, who do you think will come out on top? ??
AI and UX design: how to maintain the human touch
Last month, UX design expert Ioana Teleanu took to the virtual stage at Hotjar for an exciting talk about the fascinating world of AI. Ioana discussed the challenges and opportunities AI brings to UX design, and walked us through its implications and best practices.
With more than 5,000 registrants and 1,400 live attendees, the event highlighted the need for ethics in AI and explored its potential.
Touching on its ability to augment human capabilities, Ioana showed us that AI is designed to complement our work, not replace it. Although it offers immense benefits, AI is currently limited in its capacity to comprehend context and identify problems—a gap where designers’ roles are critical.
