Experiencing Rudeness

The old lady standing in front of me in the billing line at the grocery store was extremely rude to me. I made a mistake earlier. I didn't see her. So, it looked like I intentionally cut the line.
I was ashamed and embarrassed the moment I realized my mistake. I apologized many times, but she wouldn't forgive me!
Then, suddenly, her phone rang. She picked it up urgently. I figured out that her husband recently had brain surgery, and they are under extreme emotional and financial stress.
Whenever someone is rude to you, it's not about you. Almost always.

2 年Thank you, AG, I appreciate the reflection. Makes me wonder how much ill-feeling in the world is based on misunderstandings and miscommunications. I think it was Mark Twain who said, "I spent most of my life worrying about things that have never happened."
