Experience is a matter of sensibility and intuition, of seeing and hearing the significant things, of paying attention at the right moments, of understanding and coordinating. Experience is not what happens to someone, it is what they do with what happens to them. Aldous Huxley
**********
It took you many years to forget the greatness you knew as a child. The difference between a remarkable life that is being lived on purpose and a mediocre one is not nearly as large as you might imagine. Greatness comes from taking little steps. This is your greatest wealth.
As we develop our emotional intelligence capabilities a healthy and natural addiction to the brain’s “happiness” neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin is established. The emotional labor allows us to experience the victories associated with being on purpose. Addicts often mistakenly substitute other forms of destructive addictive behavior in their search for this natural state of happiness.
Self-awareness can enable you to pursue your life purpose with passion. Michelangelo was asked how he sculpted his masterpieces. He replied that he simply saw the works of art embedded within the slabs of marble and then set about chipping away at everything that was not that work of art. Living on purpose requires that you reconnect with the best that already resides within you.

8 年Its often said that experience is the best teacher of all. But you are correct in saying that it is what we do with it that counts. I've learned from both the positive and negative experiences in life and sometimes the negative experiences teach us the greatest lessons of all. It is our responsibility to past on these experiences to others to help mentor and smooth their transitions along the way. Thank you so much for sharing!
