Starting a business is hard and scary.
Chasing after and securing promotion after promotion is hard and scary.
Even asking your girl out on the first day was hard and scary in some ways.
Getting started to drop belly fat and man boobs is hard and scary.
And the fear of failing is what’s holding you back and stopping you from starting. Yet not getting started is the true failure.
Something I heard a few years back on a podcast was this:
“Experience is what you gain, when you lose.”
Failure is only defined by the way you view it in the first place.
Starting to work out and eat right so you can lose weight and see your abs is one thing, the chances are, you’re going to fail.
How you view failure is what defines whether you win in the end or not.
Don’t hit your target weight or perfect body image and you can choose to wallow around feeling sorry for yourself and hope everyone else will give you sympathy. . .?
Or you can regroup. Take stock of where you went “wrong”, learn from it then go again.
Experience is what you win when you lose.
In business, fitness, even life itself, it’s about what you learn from a situation and how you apply it to the future rather than dwelling on the loss itself.
You’ll have faced countless losses and failures throughout your entire life.
Missed promotions, not asking the girl out on a date before your best friend did, coming last in the egg and spoon race at sports day.

Life is littered with losses, yet not one of those losses has stopped you from getting the career you have or where you are in life, right now.
You didn’t shy away from entering the egg and spoon race because you might lose, you went ahead and raced anyway.
And when you did lose, you didn’t lose again the next year did you? No, you learnt from your loss and used it to propel you to the win.
