SERVANT LEADERSHIP is?a leadership philosophy in which the goal of the leader is to serve.
One of my dear friends,?Soon Yu?&?Dave Birss?wrote in their book, Friction, "It seems that living a life in service of others is a great way of helping ourselves."
When I started on my journey two months ago at?OFFOR Health?I knew we had some challenges before us. There was an amazing group of associates who had lost moral, needed some clear direction, and set free to do what they do best.
I have had the honor over these two months to see people life again, enjoy working with each other, and hitting goals they had not hit in months. Was that because of me as a leader, HELL NO! What it was, is that I walked in determined that I was going to remove the barriers and obstacles they had before them and try to serve them everyday the best way I know how.
I am continually puzzled at what leaders think their day to day job should be, and what executives spend most of their time doing. It is not to be in the weeds and make your teams life difficult. It is to set them free! I look forward to the next two months and to watch the amazing team at OFFOR Health blossom and flourish.
Have an amazing day!
Love,?Shawn
