An experience of a lifetime

Around this time last month (9th October 2021), I had ended up in an ER in The Woodlands (Texas) due to severe dehydration.

An hour before this event, I had crossed the finish line at Ironman Texas after swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles and running 26.2 miles on a hot day.

It took me around 15 hours and 50 minutes to finish my first Ironman. I’ve made a full recovery since then and learnt a lot from my experience. Hopefully the next one will be better thanks to everyone who stood with me during this year of intense training and experiences.

In 2021 with the training and guidance provided by the wonderful coaches volunteering with Asha for Education and support from my family and friends,?I was able to push my physical limits to that which I had never imagined I could.?I exceeded the targets I had set for myself, some of which were completing the following events.

• Ironman at The Woodlands, TX (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles - 140.6 miles total distance) duration: 15 hr 50 minutes

• Ironman 70.3 at Santa Cruz, CA (half of the above distances - 70.3 total distance) duration : 6 hr 15 minutes
• A half marathon personal best of 1 hr 45 minutes at the San Jose Rock and Roll HM

Just like how my friends, family and the coaches at Asha for Education helped me realize my potential, I want to pay it forward and help the underprivileged children in India get an opportunity to realize their full potential.
