Experience
Experience
Experience without substance is only knowledge of passage of time, awareness of activity, and insignificant knowledge.
Experience is good and its value cannot be underestimated at all. The first time I learnt this bitter truth was during an event. The event management was outsourced to someone who had worked at an event management outfit, but had zero (forgive me, this was my view of the person) competence, except that their CV said otherwise. The event planning and execution was almost a total mess.
After the event, we found out that the event manager truly worked at an event management outfit but was not competent.
Imagine a Nursing staff (apologies to our wonderful, hardworking clinical staff). But the truth about pretend competence is that it is evident everywhere – at Hospitals, Banks, Schools, Churches, Mosques, everywhere. Back to the Nursing staff who does not take up responsibilities and unfortunately is alone during an emergency. Just imagine the outcome.
Experience is good, but good experience is better.
