Cesar L. Alvarez is Senior Chairman of Greenberg Traurig. He previously served as the firm's Executive Chairman for more than three years and as its Chief Executive Officer for 13 years. During his tenure as CEO, which began in 1997, he directed the firm's growth from 325 lawyers in eight offices to today's approximately 2650 attorneys and government professionals in more than 44 locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including strategic alliances in Milan and Rome, Italy. Under Cesar's leadership, the firm was recognized as the fastest-growing law firm in the United States and is among the Top 10 law firms in the country.

Before taking the helm as CEO, Cesar practiced securities, corporate and international law for more than 25 years.
