Church of Panagia Fidousa, Markopoulo – The Miracle of the Snakes One of the most famous and unique celebrations on the island. Every year, small snakes with a cross on their heads appear in the village of Markopoulo, particularly around the Church of Panagia Fidousa. These snakes are considered sacred, and their appearance is believed to bring good luck. The event draws many visitors from across the world who come to witness this phenomenon.
Arginia village, near Poros – Panagia of Arginia Another miraculous event where the sacred snakes of Panagia are said to appear. The village celebrates with a liturgy, followed by a festival with music, food and dancing.
