The tide is turning and I can feel it in the cadence of every employer call I have.?
Forget about single 'magic pill' solutions to reduce gender pay gap figures. That's old school and doesn't work anymore.?
The new-age movement??
It's towards actions that resonate with teams. It's about actions that are a testament to organisations' commitment to fostering a better workplace culture, enabling career growth for all and a workplace where everyone feels valued.?
We all know that pay gap reporting was never about just optics.?
It's about being authentic, about consistent action, and about meeting the high expectations of employees in a transparent and fair manner.?
What's more??
The new trend that we're seeing is that organisations are increasingly seeking education sessions to understand the gender pay gap, its implications and signs. They're not seeking a superficial reduction in the figures but a meaningful change.?
And this trend, I foresee, will only intensify.?
For until organisations decode what the pay gap really stands for, its implications and signs, they'll be stuck in an endless loop, chasing a 'one size fits all' solution that doesn't exist.?
We are six years into gender pay gap reporting - it's high time we switch gears from just aiming to reduce the figure, to understanding and addressing the underlying issues.
