Expanding Your Community: And Why You Shouldn't Stick to Just One

I am so happy so many women business owners are joining our nationwide community center! What other networking and business building events to you attend and belong to? I believe you can find like minded communities, not just like minded individuals.

Finding communities that truly resonate with you, especially as a woman entrepreneur, can feel like discovering a hidden treasure. Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a networking and learning event for women business owners. This time, instead of being the host, I attended as a participant, which allowed me to connect more deeply with the women in the room. The experience was nothing short of magical.

There’s something incredibly inspiring about being surrounded by women who genuinely want to get to know you and your business. The energy in the room was palpable—women supporting women with authenticity and heart. We didn’t just talk shop; we engaged in mindset exercises, masterminded together, and shared our challenges and triumphs. It was a space where you didn’t have to explain the entrepreneurial journey because everyone in the room had been there. They understood. They empathized.

A huge thank you to Kami Guildner our host, whose love and care for the women in the room was so deeply felt. I’m also so grateful to Kathi McCarty for inviting me to this event—it was a day full of inspiration and connection. I left with a heart full of gratitude and a renewed sense of motivation.

One of the key takeaways from the event was the power of community, not just within one network but across several. While it’s easy to stay within a circle of like-minded women entrepreneurs, branching out into different communities brings new perspectives and growth. Yes, we’re all business owners interested in making sales and securing transactions, but the real magic happens when you build authentic relationships. It’s when you become an integral part of someone’s network, and they become part of yours.

We also talked about pushing past comfort zones. Growth happens when you step out of what feels safe—over and over again. I’ve seen so many women shrink when they stand up to introduce themselves or share their business. It’s almost like there’s an invisible barrier that holds them back from being truly “seen.” It’s common to feel some fear when sharing your life’s passions, especially in a room full of strangers. But I encourage you to do it over and over again until it no longer feels awkward. There is incredible power in confidently telling others what you do and why you do it.

When you stand up, share your story, and own your passion, you’re not just inspiring yourself—you’re inspiring the entire room. Confidence in your purpose has a ripple effect. The more you practice it, the easier it becomes, and soon enough, that moment of hesitation turns into a moment of empowerment. And it inspires others to do the same.

We also talked a lot about resilience—about not giving up. Moving out of your comfort zone repeatedly is part of the entrepreneurial journey. Just when one space becomes comfortable, you stretch yourself again. That’s what keeps us going and growing. Surround yourself with women who challenge and uplift you—women who refuse to let you fail. Entrepreneurship is a continuous evolution, and there is so much we can learn from each other. These are the kinds of events that nurture that growth, and I can’t encourage you enough to seek them out.

So, let yourself be scared. Let yourself be inspired. But most importantly, surround yourself with a tribe that lifts you up. I promise, those women are out there, waiting to meet you, just as you’re waiting to meet them.
