Expanding your comfort zone, a peek inside our little black book and Father’s Day dining…

I’ve been thinking about the ways in which my comfort zone has stretched over the 20 years since I launched Consider it Done.?

I was no longer able to rely on the resources of a global corporation I previously?worked for. Instead of being an expert in one field, I had to master many: operations, IT, marketing, HR, finance, strategy. Doing new things for the first time wasn’t optional - it was the only way to move forward.

In this edition of CONSIDERations we’ve explored how to stretch your comfort zone - as well as ways to bring more joy to your day with a few simple strategies. Hear about some Clever Connections we’ve made for our clients. And make some shapes on your kitchen dance floor this weekend with our LISTEN track.

Though let’s not forget about Father’s Day (Sunday 16th June). CiD’s wonderful dining concierge has gathered a selection of favourite restaurants for every kind of Dad. Best of all, someone else will cook and wash up.

Our team of high-calibre virtual PAs are standing by to book your table (as well as all the other details to make it a truly memorable family event). They can give you back the downtime you crave, and perhaps?the energy boost needed to try something new. Whether that’s planning a family party, commissioning a joiner for a long awaited home storage project, or making sense of your work expenses - we can help. Find out more by clicking Discover More.

Moving out of your comfort zone, comfortably

As a driven professional, stepping out of your comfort zone (and encouraging others to do the same) is essential for growth.

Yet it can seem daunting in the context of an already demanding work life.?

This article from Positive Psychology features valuable tips for getting out of your comfort zone. In summary:

  • The key is to shift gradually, integrating small changes that don’t overwhelm your daily routine.?
  • Start by identifying areas where you feel weakest and set manageable challenges for yourself. Whether it's taking a stronger position in meetings, pushing yourself further into networking in a new industry, or learning some new tech, aim to plan and execute the challenges without disrupting your day to day
  • Moving beyond your comfort zone doesn’t mean taking a dramatic leap. It’s about making consistent, strategic moves which lead to significant personal and professional development over time.
  • Celebrate each small victory, and use these successes to build momentum. By embracing change at a comfortable pace, you'll find yourself more adaptable, confident, and ultimately, more successful in your career and beyond.

“I made one other change in my personal life. It's one that I had contemplated for some time, but I held back. I am so glad that I made the leap to start working with Consider it Done, a virtual PA service. As a working mum, I find it hard to fit in life admin - and until recently I felt like it was my responsibility, my burden to bear and not one I could delegate (mum guilt and martyrdom perhaps?). I've definitely changed my mindset, as working with this company has been a game changer for me in my personal life. It has meant that I can now spend more of my free time doing the things that energise me - like spending time with friends and family.”

- Reena Parmar,?Counsel (DCM) at Freshfields

If you’re jetting away in June?I hope we’ve helped set you off with everything you need for a fun and relaxing time. In the next edition we’ll explore the latest in London al fresco dining, and how to be ready for Wedding Season.
