Expanding our Team. Wanted. Digital Marketing Content Producer. Probably the best blogging content marketing role in the World!

Job Title and Intro:

Your probably want to name your own job title as we do not get hung up on them and the one we came up with was, The Blog Dog. The role is to support Robb Wallace and myself on marketing and sales for our small group of fast growing adventure activity and travel businesses. You will learn how to market and sell and hopefully, we will learn from you as you will no doubt be younger than us by a fair measure. You were probably born with a mobile phone attached to you and I bet that you sleep with it unlike us old fashioned folk who can leave it in another room or building without the resulting heart attack We treat marketing and sales as one function. 90% of our marketing is digital. You should be extremely social online and offline. We are a social business in every sense. You will be able to write and produce inspiring content day in day out. We can produce photography and video in quantity to support your written content.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to growing the business by creating and managing digital media with a focus on written content. Lots of it so you best love writing as much as you love your dog. If you do not have a dog, you should have, as we worry about folks without dogs.

2. Contribute to growing the business by living online in our social world ( we have over 100000 social contacts and it is growing rapidly)

3. Contribute to growing our business by helping to answer our social enquiries which run at 50 plus per day in real time.

4. Maintain all social enquiries in CRM system when required to help rest of team

5. Produce activity and expedition descriptions in various forms from Wordpress to pdf

6. Maintain our database and manage a guest communication plan from it

7. Understand and respect systems, they are not perfect but systems make the difference. Suggest improvements, we like improvements!

8. Be adaptable, Become compatible, Stay flexible

Department and Supervisor:

Marketing/Sales and you report directly to myself or maybe Robb depends on who you are. You will also work with the office manager, and other team members when required.

Passion for social media and digital marketing and sales especially inspiring written content. 

Passion for the outdoors, travel and adventure and how important they are to peoples enjoyment of life

Location:

During the first month split between Aberfeldy, Dunning, Glasgow, Scotland. Then you can work from where you want, how you want when you want. As long as the work gets done! We are very flexible.

Type of employment:

This is a full-time role 5 days a week you can pick which days most weeks but flexibility required. If you are some sort of digital guru who can write quality online content that can contend with Donald Trump engagement levels and can do it part time or freelance we will listen to your suggestions. Yes we know he is self serving oxygen thief, but we try to learn from everyone.

Salary range and benefits:

This is an entry level marketing written content position so salary range reflects that ￡16-￡20k depending on existing skill and talents. Other benefits include doing as much adventure activities as you want in Scotland, going on overseas expeditions ( as long as you keep working when on them!) We provide the IT and software to help you learn and deliver. Very flexible working arrangements, bonus package based on results if you survive more than 6 months.

Summary

We are small and very lean. A small team of full-time folks and a large team of freelancers that support us each week. We grow organically by being the best we can be at what we do. We are self-funded so no fancy offices or the trappings of corporate life.

Our guests experience with us from start to finish and beyond is what concerns us every day!

This is not a career move where you will progress up the ladder as we do not have one. You should be careful of a "career" they are vastly overrated just ask someone who is 30 years into one! However, you will learn at the coal face on how small agile businesses survive and thrive and have a fun time doing it. When your time comes to fly to other opportunities we will wish you well and recommend you. You will have the skills and knowledge to start a business in the future and we hope you do.

We ran a similar recruitment campaign this time last year without as much focus on the written content skills. We got a fair few quality applications that inspired us and Robb who was recruited is still with us. We also got a lot of CV's you know the type, your Dad used them to get an accounts job at Brown and Brown Biscuits PLC
