Expanded Access to Newsletters and More Tools to Grow Your Voice on LinkedIn

Newsletters on LinkedIn are booming. In the past year, we have seen a 59% increase in the amount of people publishing newsletter articles on our platform and experienced a 47% increase in engagement on newsletters—showing the clear value in creating, sharing, and engaging with knowledge from professionals across the globe.

The more than 184K newsletters being published on LinkedIn cover a wide range of topics and industries, making it a great way for sharing valuable insights with communities and professionals who need them most. And, now, all members can publish a newsletter.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your presence on LinkedIn, we’ve introduced new tools and updates that you can take advantage of today.

A Redesigned and Interactive Experience

We’ve begun rolling out a revamped reading experience for newsletters that’s more engaging and user friendly. Now it’s even easier for members to 1) consume the content and knowledge you’re sharing, and 2) connect on the topics that they’re most interested in learning about and discussing.??????????????????????????

Comments will now show up on the right side of your article, making it easier for your audience to engage and spark conversations.

Add Your Personal Flair with Microsoft Designer for Cover Images:

Having a captivating cover image can really bring your newsletter to life. Authors can now take full advantage of Microsoft Designer — as I did when publishing this article — to craft cover images on LinkedIn. This AI-powered graphic design tool is integrated into the publishing experience, tailored with custom templates, sizes and suggestions.?

More Ways to Build and Engage your Audience?

  • Improved subscriber email & notifications: To help your subscribers better engage with you and your content, we’ve improved subscriber emails and notifications. Each time you publish a newsletter, subscribers get email and in-app notification of it and anyone following you will be prompted to subscribe if they aren’t already. It’s truly a surefire way to get your knowledge in front of more people.

  • Member & Page Embedding In-Article: You now have the ability to embed member profiles and pages directly into your newsletter, making it easier for your readers to click directly through to those you’re referencing. These interactive embeds will allow you to spotlight members and pages with an eye-catching approach.

  • Staging Links: We’ve begun to roll out staging links for newsletters, giving you the ability to view an article's URL before it has been published for better cross-platform sharing. Keep an eye on this feature as it rolls out in the coming weeks.

Give these new tools a try and let us know what you think. As always, we love hearing feedback and input on features that will help voices create and connect. Whenever you need inspiration or tips & tricks on how to unlock opportunity, check out the LinkedIn Guide to Creating page.

Blown away by the power of LinkedIn newsletters. I started the Art and Science of Expertise one week ago and watched it go nuts! Super addition to the suite of tools. https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/anne-lewis-pcc-cpqc-03044915_theartandscienceofexpertise-expertise-following-activity-7205989595627339777-tmek?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

Thanks for the tips. I discovered a more complete toolkit based on your article. LinkedIn has many useful tools. Given that most people have a dominant visual medium, newsletter design and layout will be a dominant need among your subscribers.
