As we begin a new year and embark on a new book in the Torah, Shemot, we delve into its rich themes, beginning with the concept of names. The word Shemot, means "names,"? invites us to explore the significance of identity and nomenclature. In this week's Torah portion, we also encounter the name of God, "Ehyeh-Asher-Ehyeh," meaning "I am That I am" or "I Will Be What I Will Be." This profound phrase encapsulates the essence of the Divine – the Mystery that transcends human comprehension, yet is intimately intertwined with our existence. It reminds us that, at this very moment, we possess incredible potential and unique talents bestowed upon us by the Divine.
The Torah's message is clear: we are all born with remarkable abilities waiting to be unearthed. When we embrace and utilize these talents, we embark on a transformative journey toward fulfilling our own beautiful potential, becoming agents of positive change in our society.
Just as the name of God implies an ever-evolving and adaptive presence, we, too, are not static beings. We are not confined by our past or our current circumstances. Instead, we are called to continuously evolve, to be what we will be. We can strive to be the "Moses" of our generation – a symbol of leadership, courage, and a relentless pursuit of justice.

In 2024, let us internalize the Torah's message and embody the essence of "Ehyeh-Asher-Ehyeh." We are not just witnesses to change but active participants in shaping a brighter future. As we strive for justice, let us remember that, like the Divine, we have the potential to be what we will be. By using our God-given talents and standing up for what is right, we can collectively make a profound difference in the face of injustice, echoing the legacies of iconic figures who have paved the way for positive change.
