Lightfoot Leaving – Disturbing Comments from Two Illinois State Representatives
Lightfoot’s Executive Orders
It is hard to understand why Lightfoot issued?ten?Executive Orders this week on her way out of office.?Obviously, she wanted to make it publicly known how she felt about particular issues.?I think it is shocking what the orders reveal instead. They reveal how?cavalier?she feels about other people’s money and the rules that everyone else is expected to play by.?
In one order she details the millions of dollars in fines and unpaid bills she has given residents relief on.?In another, she sets out a youth commission where minors are paid stipends to sit on a committee to figure out how to help youth.
Crains writes, “In an effort to burnish her legacy and potentially box in her successor, Mayor Lori Lightfoot signed?10 executive orders?on a range of policy issues today, her last full weekday in office before Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson is inaugurated Monday.”
In Executive Order 2023-4?-?Continuation of?Clear Path Relief Debit Relief Programs?- Lightfoot resolves that the next mayor continues to provide debt relief. What I found shocking was the amount of debt relief recently given. Lightfoot brings these figures to light:
Why do the rest of us pay our bills?
I am now not surprised that incoming?Mayor Brandon Johnson?didn’t pay his $3,000 water bill.?He must have been waiting for debt forgiveness despite earning close to $200,00 as a lobbyist for the CTU.
Executive Order 2023-9:?Youth Commission.?Lightfoot wants 32 Commissioners aged 14-19 to develop and share their concerns, hopes, and ideas with City leadership to improve the economic, social, and political quality of life for all young Chicagoans; and
WHEREAS, the Youth Commission will be a voice for all young people who aim to propose and implement solutions to citywide problems from the neighborhood level to the highest levels of municipal government;?Youth Commissioners will receive STIPENDS - cost unknown
In Executive Order 2023-7:?Lightfoot establishes the office of?New Americans.?Confirming Chicago as a Welcoming City for refugees and asylum seekers.?She does this at a time when America has literally had an estimated 5 million people cross our border illegally, where non-citizen healthcare is expected to cost Illinoisans over $1 billion this year, where Lightfoot just chastised Governor Abbott for sending illegal immigrants to Chicago, and where the Lightfoot administration and Gov. Pritzker are asking the federal government for millions of dollars to support them.?
Lightfoot may be trying to set her legacy with these virtue-signaling orders.?But her legacy and that of Kim Foxx, Toni Preckwinkle, and all their enablers is laid out in this?exit letter?by?former Cook County Prosecutor Jason Poje?who resigned from the Cook County States Attorney’s Office on May 5th.
"After 20 years, I always kind of figured an email like this would start with "It is with a heavy heart that I leave..." The truth is, I can't get out of here fast enough..."?Read rest of Poje's letter here
?The Migrant crisis is dividing the city further.?Black Chicago Citizens are Furious that Migrants have taken over a school and are tapping into resources.
And according to sources, the budget discussions are bogged down amongst Democrats over the cost of non-citizen healthcare and other support for illegal immigrants.
Mouthy Democrat Women in Springfield
First up - Democrat State Representative Kelly Cassidy
“…from the party of government small enough to fit in my uterus…”
领英推荐
Cassidy’s comments were targeted at the House Republican caucus, which, at 40 members, is the smallest in history as a percentage of the body. Her vulgar remarks were made during the debate on?SB 1909, a bill that would?force pro-life pregnancy centers to discuss abortion?as a way to handle an unwanted pregnancy.?It would also?restrict sidewalk outreach?by pro-life counselors who want to share options other than abortion with women in a crisis pregnancy.?
?
Who talks this way??Cassidy does.?And no one said a word.?No one?took her to task for the unprofessional way she discussed the minority party and her pompous disgusting description of the caucus.
?
About the bill - The radical Democrats are not content with Illinois being the most pro-abortion state in the country.
Illinois is Now Poised to be the First in Nation to Subject Crisis Pregnancy Centers to the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices Act!
Capitol News summarized the bill?this way:
“Illinois would become one of the first states to make so-called crisis pregnancy centers subject to the same consumer fraud standards as car dealerships, retailers, and service-based businesses under a bill that will soon head to Gov. JB Pritzker.
Upon the measure becoming law, crisis pregnancy centers could be sued under the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act if they engage in “unfair methods of competition” or “deceptive acts or practices.”
Democrats argued that pregnancy centers don’t offer full reproductive healthcare, meaning they don’t offer abortion as an option.
Hmm…isn’t it abortion clinics that offer no reproductive healthcare, just an end to reproduction?
The Illinois House Freedom Caucus issued this statement about the bill:
We hear a lot about protecting women, we keep using the word women in reference to this bill. How far should we go to protect women?
Should we protect young women in high school restrooms from intact males in the space? Should we protect women in collegiate athletics from having contact with males in the dressing rooms?
We all agree women need to be protected and acknowledge that a woman is born female and only a biological female can give birth. So, if we are going to talk about protecting the health and safety of women in one space, we need to stop ignoring that there is deception in other spaces which is a tremendous danger to women as well.
Senate Bill 1909 is nothing more than a power grab to give the Attorney General carte balance authority to target crisis pregnancy centers for any reason. Anyone- even people who have had no direct connection to a crisis pregnancy center- can lodge a complaint and essentially launch an investigation.
This legislation is not about protecting anyone but the monsters in our state who celebrate the brutal murder of innocent children as a “right.” This bill is not only a violation of the First Amendment rights of those involved (mostly volunteers) at crisis pregnancy centers. But it also is overt persecution of people whose only crime is disagreeing with the abortion death cult. Senate Bill 1909 will be challenged in court.?It will be overturned, and we will continue to speak out against the extreme positions of the pro-abortion advocates in our state.
The Illinois Freedom Caucus is comprised of State Representatives Chris Miller (R-Oakland), chairman; Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City), vice-chairman; Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich); Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville); Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur); Jed Davis (R-Newark) and David Friess (R-Red Bud). The members of the Illinois Freedom Caucus are members of the Illinois General Assembly who are advocating for limited government, lower taxes, and accountability and integrity in government.
The Democrats also passed other pro-abortion bills highlighted in this?Effingham Daily News article.
SB 1907?“requires?university and community college campuses to maintain at least one vending machine where students can buy the emergency contraceptive Plan B “morning after” pill.”
SB 1344?“mandates certain insurers cover medication abortion, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and HIV medication” and “explicitly exempts reports from the Abortion Care Clinical Training program from being subject to the Freedom of Information Act,”
HB 3326?“would prohibit out-of-state law enforcement from getting access to Illinois’ automatic license plate reader data unless they stipulate they won’t be using that information to investigate someone seeking an abortion in Illinois or based on his or her immigration status.”
These are the Democrat Priorities in Illinois.
Next Up - State Rep. Mary Flowers
Mary Flowers Kicked Out of Democrat Leadership for Nazi Remark
Here’s the headline from this NPR article,?“Rep. Mary Flowers removed from leadership after saying staff member resembled Hitler.”?The article explains that?Flowers told a staff member that he looked like Adolf Hitler and that his presence made her feel uncomfortable. This is a significant admonishment. Flowers is the?longest-serving?state representative in her 39th?year of service.?The removal from leadership comes with about a $10,000 pay cut as well. And Speaker Welch is bucking a fellow member of the Black?Caucus.?Look for this to be sorted out in the near future.
These comments would represent a new low in Springfield if it weren’t for State Rep Kifowit’s comments a few years ago.
Democrat Stephanie Kifowit?in debate literally?wished death?on?Republican Peter Breen?and his family.?Her comments were so offensive that a vote was taken to strike her words from the official record. That is?an?official action of admonishment as her words remain in the record.?She was forced to apologize.?At the time of her remarks, I was the only legislator to rebuke her swiftly.?Hours later other Republicans chimed in and then finally Democrats did so forcing a public apology from Kifowit.??The media covered the incident. You can read about it here:?Democrat apologizes for death wish that Republican says deserves ‘handcuffs’
