Once again, this is my commitment to be Civil and Speak Truth to Power.
Peter Zeihan wrote a very good analysis of where we stand after the election and what is funny is he may have gotten it right in his first book, the Accidental Super Power.
It is clear to me now that the Bill Clinton motto "It's Economy Stupid" is what drove this election. A qualified politician with a worldview, was not want the electorate wanted to think about.
Our economy suffered terribly because of bad regulation. Housing Bubbles, Financial Institutions failing all came about by regulatory insanity.
I do not expect any of those lessons to be learned.
I expect however that we will become a very introspective country for the near future.
We will see, how our focus enables the future.
A careful reading of Zeihan's book reveals that the world will have some major problems coming in the future that will lead to war.
If we choose to be neutral, while the world adjusts, we may be safe. It's hard to cross two oceans. It's also a fact that to date International Terrorists have only crossed through Canada.
Do we fear workers more than terrorists?
If we build up our military though, we will face the problem of wanting to not waste the production.
We will see.
Regardless, the smart move is to be about domestic production and domestic consumption.
