Exiled Egyptian Scientist Awarded Third U.S. Patent for Climate Change Technology, Unveils Revolutionary 'Proof of Survival' Project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[New York, October 31, 2024] – Last week, on October 22, 2024, Dr. Maher Abdelsamie , an Egyptian scientist, inventor, and human rights advocate, was awarded his third U.S. patent for groundbreaking climate change and cybersecurity technology. The patent (US 12,125,049 B2), titled "Secure Methods and Systems ," marks his eighth international patent, showcasing his unwavering commitment to innovation despite profound personal tragedy.

Separated from his family since 2010 due to his human rights activities after the January 25th Revolution, Dr. Abdelsamie carries the weight of unspeakable personal loss. When asked about the tragic events that befell his family in 2017, he maintains a dignified silence, choosing instead to channel his private grief into creating positive change for others. "Some wounds are too deep for words," he shares quietly. "I honor my family's privacy by focusing on work that might prevent others from suffering."

Despite his vocal opposition to the Egyptian regime and the painful events that befell his young preschooler daughter and wife, Dr. Abdelsamie has taken an unexpected stance in support of Egypt's economy. Driven by a deep commitment to stability in the Middle East and globally, he is urging international support and investment in Egypt to help bolster economic growth and sustain regional stability.

Dr. Abdelsamie's research on climate change has led him to a stark realization: the global powers responsible for contributing significantly to climate change represent an existential threat to humanity. These same powers are perpetuating human rights abuses in impoverished nations. His findings reveal a disturbing alignment among these major powers, who publicly advocate for human rights and sustainability, yet often act in ways that prioritize their dominance and resources over genuine global welfare. This hypocrisy is further underscored by their support of ongoing atrocities in the Middle East and globally, where they profess commitment to human rights while frequently supporting actions that contradict these principles.

Reflecting his dedication to constructive progress, Dr. Abdelsamie announced his intention to run for the Egyptian presidency in 2024 , should the Egyptian government permit his candidacy. However, with the Egyptian presidential election held earlier in 2023 and no response received from the Egyptian government, his bid remains unacknowledged. Dr. Abdelsamie explains that he declared his intention to run to inspire those calling for violent and destructive revolution to focus on peaceful and sustainable change instead. He views this path as a constructive avenue for positive transformation and emphasizes that public interest and regional stability must take precedence over personal grievances or political opposition. In recent statements on social media regarding protests planned for November 11, 2022, and July 12, 2024, he openly rejected these calls for revolution, advocating instead for stability and discouraging divisive actions in Egypt.

Dr. Abdelsamie's innovative projects now face challenges due to Anti-ESG and Anti-Boycotting laws in the United States, which could impact the deployment of his Environmental Credit Scoring System (ECSS) and Boycotting System . While both systems have anti-banning properties if implemented outside the banning country, such restrictions could limit their application in the U.S. However, the anti-banning features of these systems, which drive demand for products and services in other countries, could ultimately incentivize banning countries to reconsider or reverse such restrictions.

After publishing articles about the Boycotting System , Dr. Abdelsamie received messages and comments that, along with the risks he faces in his advocacy work, led him to formally request permission from Egyptian President El-Sisi to return to Egypt without fear of being arrested upon arrival due to his human rights activities and political opposition abroad. As of now, however, he has not received a response to his request.

Through his journey, Dr. Abdelsamie has expressed that he came to the United States with the belief it was a place that upheld freedom, justice, and human rights. However, he notes that certain laws may restrict the application of systems designed to promote these values. "It's disheartening to see tools intended for positive change and accountability facing obstacles," Dr. Abdelsamie shared.

Most recently, Dr. Abdelsamie has unveiled his groundbreaking project through a patent filing, introduced in his recently published article titled "Proof of Survival: Where Health Meets Wealth in the Digital Age. " At its core, this revolutionary system is the first to achieve true continuous passive biometric verification, automatically authenticating users (e.g., every 2-5 minutes) through ECG (electrocardiogram) and PPG (photoplethysmography) data without requiring any user action. When combined with continuous location verification, this creates an unprecedented level of security and trust in digital interactions.

The system introduces a groundbreaking economic model where users can earn cryptocurrency simply by being alive—transforming human vitality into digital value through a "biometric mining" mechanism that requires no technical knowledge. Unlike traditional cryptocurrency mining that consumes massive amounts of energy, this system rewards users for contributing to network security through their natural biological signals, creating a more sustainable and inclusive economic model.

The system's applications are transformative: it enables truly secure cryptocurrency wallets that continuously verify the owner's living presence, ensures foolproof remote work verification, provides real-time fraud prevention for financial transactions, and creates tamper-proof audit trails for sensitive operations—all while passively monitoring health indicators for potential emergencies.

In healthcare, the continuous biometric and location verification enables secure patient monitoring, automatic hospital check-ins, and verified medical compliance tracking. For enterprise security, it offers persistent identity verification that prevents credential sharing and ensures the physical presence of authorized personnel. Perhaps most remarkably, the system accomplishes all this while maintaining strict user privacy through advanced encryption and zero-knowledge proofs, making it the first truly passive, continuous, and privacy-preserving verification solution.

This project exemplifies Dr. Abdelsamie's vision of technology that serves both humanitarian and practical purposes, offering transformative solutions for security, healthcare, and financial services in the digital age.
