SPI North America, co-sponsored by Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA). It was founded in 1995 in the form of conference and forum. As an exhibition, it was first held in San Francisco, the United States, in 2004, and then toured throughout the United States from September to October every year.

At present, the exhibition is the largest professional exhibition and trade fair for solar energy and energy storage industry in North America and even the world, and is also one of the most successful and influential international exhibitions in the industry.

This exhibition is the first after integration. The last exhibition had an exhibition area of 600000 square feet, attracting 26000 participants and 713 exhibitors.
