Exhibition Time?
After 5 years, 150 towns or so, 2 books and almost 1800 portraits along the way, I am feeling the time has come to start pushing towards an exhibition of my work. I am hoping that I can get a little further than the wall at the end of my street, shown here.
I had an idea way back in 2011 when I started travelling to different towns that maybe I could build an exhibition from a core group of images then shoot a specific mini-series of portraits near each venue which I could include also. Hopefully I could use these to spread the message through social networks and local press, combining with some talks and workshops, all with the aim of drawing people in.
Whether I can actually make this happen, remains to be seen. Funding is incredibly tight and I’m aware there is no magic exhibition train about to come roaring round the bend. So with more than a little trepidation, I will be working hard at sourcing venues and funding over the next few months. If you are involved in a gallery, arts venue or exhibition space anywhere around the country (or know of anybody who is!) and fancied discussing this a little more, I would be really pleased to hear from you. I’m fairly sure with the right wind behind, a little luck and a lot of hard work it could be a fun and engaging show.
If you don't happen to know my work you can follow it on my Tumblr Blog, Facebook Page or on Instagram

9 年Good luck with this. Loved seeing your work on crossing paths and via vauxhall- be even better to see it in a gallery.
